As of 1 July 2021, the Protection of Personal Information Act, No.4 of 2013 (POPIA) came into effect. We take protection of your information and privacy seriously.

The POPIA governs how we collect and/ or receive information about you and we want ‘you’ our valued customers to feel safe when purchasing our products. Please note that we (that includes our staff, partners, agents, subcontractors and/or affiliates) will treat and use your personal information in accordance with, and for the purpose of, performing our contractual obligations as set out in our agreement with you. Introduction

This Protection of Personal Information Privacy Policy (Policy) seeks to cover how Corporate Mall ( A subsidiary of SALAMAX ) will protect all Personal Information, and rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Purpose and Objective of this Policy

The purpose of this Policy is to set out the manner in which we collect, use, share and process Personal Information, irrespective of how such Personal Information was collected.

We respect the privacy of your Personal Information, and for this reason, we will take all reasonable measures, in accordance with this Policy and POPIA, to protect your Personal Information and to keep it confidential, even when you no longer purchase goods from us.

Why we need Personal Information?

Some of the reasons for us having to process your Personal Information are:
• To provide or manage any information, products and/or services requested by you.
• To determine your needs and preferences in terms of the products and/or services we provide.
• To help us identify you when you contact us, thereby making sure that we do not share your Personal Information with someone other than yourself.
• For information maintenance and keeping our records updated.
• For general administration purposes.
• To carry out analysis in order to plan ahead and improve our offering to you.
• In addition, we may be required to share your Personal Information with some of our suppliers, service providers and business partners to ensure seamless service delivery to you. Our service providers, suppliers and business partners have legal agreements with the us, in terms of which, they are legally bound to keep your Personal Information secure and confidential, and to use it exclusively for the purposes which they have been contracted.

How do we collect Personal Information?

We collect information about you:

• Based on your use of our products, services, or service channels (such as our website or applications).
• Based on how you engage or interact with us, such as on social media, public sources and through emails, letters, telephone calls, and surveys.
• From third parties for the purposes of conducting our business.

If the law requires us to do so, we will ask for your consent before collecting Personal Information about you from third parties. The third parties from whom we may collect your Personal Information include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Any connected companies, subsidiary companies, its associates, delegates, assignees, affiliates, or successors in title and/or appointed third parties (such as its authorised agents, partners, contractors, and suppliers) for any of the purposes identified in this Policy.
• Payment processing services providers, merchants, banks, and other persons that assist with the processing of your payment instructions.
• Law enforcement and fraud prevention agencies, and other persons tasked with the prevention and prosecution of crime.
• Regulatory authorities, industry ombudsmen, government departments, and local and international tax authorities.
• Participating partners, whether retail or online, provided you have not opted out of marketing communication.
• Marketing list providers, provided you have not opted out of marketing communication.

What type of Personal Information do we collect?

Personal Information collected by Corporate Mall and the Administrator includes but not limited to your name, contact details, location information, online identifier and bank details.

Which laws apply?

This Policy will be governed by and construed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of South Africa. To the extent that a court has jurisdiction over any dispute which may arise out of or in connection with this Policy, we both submit to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.

Changes to this Policy

We reserve the right, in our sole discretion to amend (including without limitation, by the addition of new terms and conditions) this Policy from time to time. The amended version of the Policy shall supersede and replace all previous versions thereof.
